We’re brothers Mark and Jon Sider from Highland Park, IL. We love working out and playing competitive sports. And we understand the importance of healthful hydration for peak performance, rapid recovery, and nutritional maintenance.

So we needed a drink that would replenish essential nutrients without unnecessary sugar or calories. And with no chemicals! But there wasn’t one.

We noticed a few fellow yoga students drinking coconut water. We became curious and learned that coconut water had many natural benefits. But, on its own, it wasn’t right for our purpose.

Greater > Than in its early stages

So we founded Team Sider in September 2009 to create an all natural sports/hydration drink based on coconut water that would be loaded with electrolytes, wonderfully low in sugar and calories, go down easy and taste great.

We consulted with top sports science nutritionists and beverage formulators, spent hundreds of hours measuring, mixing, and tasting, and conceived the notion of a drink that would help us be Greater > Than in all our endeavors.

And on August 1, 2010, Greater Than, our delicious, all natural, chemical free, and electrolyte laden coconut water drink came to market at Sunset Foods in Highland Park, Illinois.
